A trip to ATL and Valentine's Day

An AWESOME quilt a good friend of ours made for Corin.

Corin learned last week that he is going to have a baby sister this summer. He didn't seem too excited about it, but his mommy is thrilled and has already started collecting pink clothes to get ready for the new arrival. Kristi has started to feel her move inside, but nothing that we can feel from the outside yet.

We had a Super Bowl party at our house last week. Enough said about that.

We just got back from a visit to see Aunt Michelle, Uncle Nick and baby cousin Kennedy in Atlanta. Kennedy is just a month old and it is crazy to think that Corin was ever that tiny. Most of the time that Corin was awake we had to keep Kennedy just out of his arms' reach so he wouldn't hurt her. But just after he wakes up from his naps he is very happy and usually very calm. So we put Kennedy down with his arm around her and got some great pics of the two of them together.
One day Corin and I went to the grocery store. Like many stores, they had carts that have a little spaceship (most stores have a little car) attached to the cart that kids can ride in. He has never been in one so I wasn't sure how he would react to it. But as soon as I put him in the cockpit he grabbed on the steering wheel and started laughing. We were only at the store for milk, but we walked up and down every aisle at least once so he could drive around.
We had a great trip. It was wonderful to see Nick and Michelle, and to get to meet Baby K. Next time we go down we'll just have to see if we can avoid flying out of Indy when it is covered in snow and then having it snow a couple inches in ATL while we are there. At least Corin slept for both the flight down and back, so we escaped being the screaming baby family for this trip.

Valentine's Day was a low key affair at our house. Corin got Mommy a card from him and she was very touched by it. Grandma came up to watched the lad for a bit so we could go run some errands and eat a meal by ourselves. It was very nice.
We are expecting more snow overnight and into tomorrow, so we are just going to be hunkered down with a fire in the fireplace, warm milk in the bottle and the Olympics on the TV. Doesn't get much better that than.
