Days 94 - 96: Wildwood NJ!

First plane trip!

The past few days have been filled with activity. Early Monday morning we left home nad headed to the airport for Corin's first flight. We were headed to Wildwood, NJ for three days of fun in the sun, and for Kristi and I to become our nephew's godparents. Corin did great on the trip. He ate and slept for the flight and then slept for the two hour car ride from the airport to the beach. We were thrilled that he did so well on the plane, since people see a baby on a plane and think "#$%*". But after the flight we even got a compliment from the people sitting in from of us that he did so well. Nicely done buddy.
The next couple days were spent at the beach, on the boardwalk and by the pool. He got a little sunburn the second day (with 50 SPF and under an umbrella!), but it never seemed to bother him. The flight back went just as well, even with a two hour delay in our take-off. So now we are back home, doing lot of laundry and relaxing for the day.

Days 90-93: Three months old / Bike trip

This past Thursday Corin turned three months old, so only 17.75 years to go!
We took our first bike trip yesterday. We have taken several rides around the neighborhood, and he seems to enjoy the wind in his hair. But yesterday was our first trip actually going somewhere. We took our bikes to the grocery store and Corin did great. For some of the trip I heard little noises coming from the trailer, but as you can see from the video and picture he eventually passed out.

Days 87-89: Gotta wear shades

His future's so bright...

Things continue to go well at home for Corin. He is eating well (he hasn't had any problems with that since we brought him home). He generally holds to waking up once a night to eat, although sometimes he gets a little fussy and noisy during the night which requires just a little soothing to get him back down.
In the past few days Corin has gotten to meet our next-door neighbors' brand new baby (they really didn't seem to care too much about each other), and take an overnight trip down to Bloomington (which means lots of hugs and kisses from Grandma and Lola). He has also been spending a fair amount of time in the car as Kristi drives him around the state to drop me off or pick me up from the days of my charity bike ride I'm able to do. He gets a B to B+ for multi-hour auto travel. He usually has 15-30 minutes of being upset and then he falls asleep and is fine for the rest of the trip. But as Kristi can tell you, that can be a hard 15-30 minutes.

Days 83-86: Sleeping is good

The past four or five nights have been very good sleeping nights for Corin. During the day he still eats every three hours or so, but during the night he has moved to sleeping in about four blocks. So we feed him around 10pm, then get up at a little after 2am, and then we wake up around 6:30 or so. So we went very quickly from getting up three times each night to only getting up once, which is a very nice treat.
He is really becoming much more alert too. He makes lots of happy noises, likes to kick his feet around, and really moves his head and eyes around to track things moving around the room. His favorite place to hang out and play is his changing table, which is why so may of our pictures and video are shot there.

Days 80-82: Visiting with friends

On the last day of my trip for work, we went back to the beach for a bit and then got together with our great friends the James family. They just happened to be attending a conference in northern Indiana at the same time that we were up there. It was great to see Julie, and of course, Maggie and Iola (whom I held all the time when they were Corin's size).
Once we returned home we got together with my friend from work who just had a baby 6 days ago. It was crazy to see such a small baby and realize how big Corin has gotten. We almost didn't even believe that he was ever that small until we came back and saw the pictures of just how tiny he really was.

Day 79 - Another day at the beach

We had a great day hanging out together today. It was nice weather, so we all went out to breakfast together and then walked around an outdoor shopping area. After a quick nap back at the hotel we loaded up for an afternoon at the beach. Corin enjoyed himself at the beach and was a hit with everyone who saw him. The water was still a bit cool for him to swim, but we are just warming him up for his first trip to the ocean in a couple weeks.

Day 78 - The Family is Back Together

Mommy and Corin came back up to northern Indiana to stay with me for the remainder of my work trip. Today is their first day back up here, but the weather isn't great. But we are looking forward to Sunday when we should have good weather and can get back down to the beach.
It was raining in Bloomington on the 4th of July, so Mommy and Corin didn't get to experience any fireworks together. So once all the fireworks went on sale on the 5th, I went out and picked some up. Now we are all ready to set off some pyrotechnics for my sister's birthday.

Day 70 - A Day at the Beach

Mommy and Corin came to visit me while I'm on my trip for work. We are staying on the lovely shores of Lake Michigan, so we took the little guy out for a day at the beach. It was pretty cool and windy, but it was nice to feel the sand between our toes, and Corin looks pretty cute in his crab beach hat.
It is much nicer this week, and they should be coming back up. So we should get some good fun in the sun pics for everyone at the end of the week.
